Early Life and Education:
- Dr. Amin Hasanvand was born in Aleshtar, Lorestan province, west of Iran, in 1982.
- He was granted Admission University and earned his Veterinary (D.V.M.) in 2007. He continued to pursue further research and education in his field of passion.
- He earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Medical School of Tehran University in 2016 under the supervision of Professor Bijan Jahangiri, Professor Ahmad-reza Dehpour, Professor Shahram Ejtemaei-mehr, Professor Mohammad Tavangar and Professor Mohammad-reza Hadian at that time. His thesis title was "Involvement of AMPK signaling pathway stimulated by metformin in diabetic neuropathy in rats."
Career:
- Dr. Amin Hasanvand is an Iranian pharmacologist and biomedical scientist, He is currently an associate professor of pharmacology at the School of Medicine, Lorestan University of Medical Sciences (LUMS).
- He began his academic career by joining Lorestan University of Medical Sciences as an Assistant Professor of pharmacology in 2016. He was promoted to an Associate Professor of pharmacology in 2021.
- Following his executive roles, he is the director of the Deputy of Research of Faculty of Pharmacy (2016 - 2017), the Head of Faculty of Pharmacy, (2017 - at 2019), the Deputy of Food and Drug, Lorestan University of Medical Sciences (2019 - at 2020), the Advisor of the President of the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences (2020 - at 2022), And the Head of Secretariat of Council for Health and Food safety (2020 at 2022) in Lorestan University of Medical Sciences.
- He has supervisor/advisor Medical/Pharmacy doctor thesis, also, he has published more than 50 original research papers in the world's prestigious journals.
- He is also a member of the Editorial Board in "United Journal of Pharmacology and Therapeutics," "Immunopathologia Persa" and "Annals of Research in Antioxidants". In addition, he recurrently acts as a reviewer/editor for various scientific journals, upon request.
- Dr. Amin Hasanvand Research Interests are Nephropharmacology, Diabetes and Neurosciences and his Research Fields are Metformin, Minocycline, Inflammatory cytokines, Oxidative stress, Ischemia – Reperfusion, Diabetes, Kidney and Nerve in animals.
